Who is to blame for the humiliation of the teaching profession?

Shivram Poudel, Parbat

Teachers who have to lead others from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge are themselves in darkness.

Let’s look back at that ancient time. In the gurukula system of education, the guru was the most respected and respected, the one who taught hard, the one who taught hard. Teaching was also a matter of honor; Also to read The disciple had to respect the teacher, others considered him as a distinguished person. Gurus were also wise, prudent, moral, dutiful and honest. There was no room for questioning in his character and hardly anyone dared. However, many teachers today are less likely to have the same qualities as their teachers. Teachers who have to lead others from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge are themselves in darkness. They are confused by various things, and they are also confused. It is not the teacher’s behavior to make noise, fight and drink alcohol in the village house. There is also the fact that some such teachers have humiliated the entire profession. How can a bad teacher teach good behavior to others? And how can the society and the students who have seen and experienced the behavior, conduct and routine of the same teacher respect him?

The teaching profession is and should be a truly respected profession. It may seem natural and somewhat selfish to say that the teaching profession should be respected as a teacher. But I think the teaching profession should be made more honorable than it should be. But ironically, in today’s society, a buyer is viewed with more respect and prestige than a secondary school teacher, while a secondary school teacher has more educational qualifications and salary than a buyer. There is only one reason for this: his chances of earning extra are low. In capitalist society, wealth and property get more recognition. Wealthy people have to be respected and powerful. When prosperity is given more importance than conduct, then man is ready to go beyond any limit to earn money. When a person lives comfortably by earning irregularly, no one pays attention to his source of income and the process or means of earning, but everyone is attracted towards his wealth or means. In this way, giving more importance to wealth than conduct and behavior by the society is to indirectly lead to corruption.

The government itself is discriminating against teachers and civil servants. A teacher does not get the same facilities and privileges as a civil servant while he is serving in a very remote and uncomfortable situation. If the person appointed as the buyer today returns home on a bike with white number plate tomorrow, he will be able to travel in the country and abroad in an official vehicle. The politics in the education sector has not been able to contribute to the restoration of the reputation of teachers. Since the occasional teachers’ movements are also driven by any class or organization, such movements have not been able to make significant contribution in the overall education sector. Instead, it is found to be promoting political activity in education. There are countless examples of developing hostile relations between teachers working in the same school. The tendency to pull one’s legs from behind, then to throw oneself from the front; How much is how much It is a fact that such activities have made the teaching profession even more challenging.

There are irregularities in the place of entering the teaching profession. You don’t have to study in the education faculty to become a teacher. Anyone can become a teacher. Students who are not qualified in other faculties are also happily accepted in the faculty of pedagogy. Similarly, the tendency to choose a teaching profession after failing in other professions has devalued those who really want to become teachers and enjoy it. The teaching profession is considered by some to be the last resort of Rosario. In this way, people who do not have the will and on the basis of some whims are recruited for jobs, not for real education and self-satisfaction. Due to such various reasons, ethics and diligence in the teaching profession has come down. Isn’t it necessary to have a little bit of sensitivity in choosing the right person in the field of producing the leaders of tomorrow’s country and the bodies that regulate it? Such activities of the government are also responsible for the crisis of reputation in the teaching profession.

Another important aspect in the field of education is private schools, which are run for business purposes. The source of all their financial activities is the fees charged from the students. Due to this, some teachers working in private schools are forced to work for a salary far below their educational qualifications and capacity. Most of the students, administration, and parents here have little awareness that teachers should be respected. Even the students have been living on our own money, so I have had the bitter experience of hearing teachers say that we should do as we say. Most of the school administrators seem to be ready to exploit the teachers mentally and physically in the name of their profession. And how can a society that considers the level of one’s income as prestige be able to respect a teacher who cannot even lead a normal life with his salary?
